Holiday Dining

The number one rule at our house?

No experimenting on Thanksgiving.

That means classics like sweet potato casserole (Amber’s mom’s recipe), a classic turkey locally sourced, and local vegetables simply prepared for your family gathering at Idle Hour, available in November and December. After your meal, curl up by the rock fireplace or take a stroll to the treeline to watch the sunset while we tidy up, pack your leftovers, and disappear. Did we mention pie?

Now that’s a holiday.

Appalachian Supper at Idle Hour

Seasonal, local eating is as delicious as it is ecological.

From the big stars of summer to the hidden gems of winter— we’ll ensure that your ingredients are the best our region has to offer, and that they’ve been treated with the respect our years of experience have taught us.

A three-course supper starts at $150 per person with a 20% service fee. We are happy to accommodate your allergies and dietary preferences.
